One of the more powerful liposuction tools is inner and outer thigh liposuction. Liposuction is best for patients who have localized deposits of fat on their body that don’t seem to respond as well to diet and exercise. These recalcitrant areas or regions of the body seem to contain excess fat no matter how hard we work in the gym or how hard we diet. It seems that even when we work hard to become leaner, we often overshoot in other areas of the body, but our problems areas still seem to disproportionately contain fat. These are the areas that are excellent for liposuction. It is extremely helpful to have excellent diet and exercise habits prior to liposuction so that you can maintain those habits after liposuction. We encourage patients to consume between 80-100 grams of protein per day prior to liposuction and to eliminate evening carbohydrates. Morning carbohydrates such as cereal, oatmeal, and carbohydrates with a low glycemic index are ok. These are often a necessary fuel source to get you through the day.
