The posterior trunk or posterior body lift is one of the most effective tools for body contouring. This procedure is usually performed after an abdominoplasty on the anterior aspect of the trunk. These are common procedures for people who have lost a significant amount of weight from diet and exercise, weight loss bariatric surgery, or weight loss medications.
The photograph demonstrates an early post-operative result. The patient also had a brachioplasty and an excision of a the bra fat since the posterior trunk lift. The posterior bra excision is hidden in the bra line. These are a lot of incision patterns and require a health diet rich in protein and vitamins and minerals to heal effectively without complications. This patient healed very well. We typically have patients stop weight loss medications for a few weeks before and after surgery and facilitate healing with hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The patient satisfaction with these surgeries is high.
