Facelift and necklift operations can be extremely rewarding for the patient and the physician. Patients who are great candidates for facelift operations state that they feel young but that they notice that their facial appearance is not congruent with how they feel. These patients are excellent candidates for facelift operations. The facelift operation takes approximately 4-5 hours and patients typically stay over night for one night in the surgery center. The facelift surgery is not painful. Patients typically report only taking pain pills for a day or two after surgery. Hyperbaric oxygen is a helpful adjunct to facilitate healing. We recommend 2-3 treatments of hyperbaric before surgery and 2-3 treatments after surgery. Healing improves over the course of six weeks after surgery and full healing from the facelift surgery takes up to one year.
