Rhinoplasty is one of my favorite procedures to perform. One of the more common reasons for people to request a rhinoplasty operation is to decrease the projection of their nose and to reduce the hump on their nose. When changing the characteristics of the nose it can be advantageous to keep or maintain many aspects. In this way, the new nose still fits the persons face. When this occurs, many people may not notice that a person had a rhinoplasty, because the person still looks like themselves. The before and after photograph shows deprojection of the nose, removal of the dorsal hump, and improvement of alar contour.
On the front photograph you can appreciate the refinement in the nasal tip as well as the improvement in nasal contour. Often when patients have a bulbous nasal tip or when the want to refine the nasal tip, the lower lateral cartilages need to be repositioned into a new position to help give definition to the nose. This new position of the nasal cartilages also improves the alar contour and improves the alar notching. Patient satisfaction is high with rhinoplasty procedures.
